New Build, Windermere

Brief: Design and project manage the interior of a new build house for private client who wanted a serene, light and beautiful second home in the lake district where they can relax. Major use of natural materials and local craftspeople including hand made oak wardrobes and bespoke office.

We live in Kent and bought a new build four bed roomed holiday home in Windermere, some 320 miles away. So, the extent of what we needed someone to help us with was significant; from curtaining and carpeting, to tiling bathrooms, building wardrobes, decorating, choosing all furniture and even cups and saucers. In fact everything needed for a new house. Rachael even found us a gardener and cleaner! Rachael listened to us understanding our likes and dislikes, using her considerable design skills in creating a wonderful home. She turned what could have been a nightmare experience for us into an enjoyable exercise. Rachael seemed to know when she needed input from us and when she could go ahead and make her own decisions, a skill invaluable in such a large, five month, project to complete it in a reasonable timeframe. Her attention to detail, and sourcing and management of multiple tradesmen and suppliers was incredible. In summary Rachael is an excellent designer and overall project manager, as well as a super person to work with. We can thoroughly recommend her whatever your home development needs are.
